THE REASON WE EXIST

The 70-hour ordeal that started everything.

Consolidoc's founder, Tina Fernandez, is a technology lawyer with 20+ years of experience negotiating contracts worth over £100 million. She studied for the Bar, building a career, starting a family, and spending two decades as what she calls a businessperson who happens to know the law. She chose in-house roles over private practice, specialising in vendor agreements, compliance frameworks, and global technology contracts.

From that vantage point, she noticed a recurring problem: post-signature, no one reads the contract. They're too long, too complicated, and too cumbersome to drive performance day to day, yet ineffective management is hugely costly. Consolidoc exists to fix that, so customers can drive far greater value from the work they've already won.

Everywhere she went, she saw the same pattern. Contracts negotiated carefully, signed, yet later there were, missed renewals, unenforced terms and obligations buried in inboxes. Organisations losing 8 to 15% of the value they had just spent months negotiating, without ever realising it.

The moment that broke the pattern came after a 70-hour ordeal trying to consolidate a single contract that had accumulated 61 separate amendments over its lifetime. No tool existed to do it. She did it manually, across three days, and decided that was enough. The problem she had watched repeat itself across her entire career finally had a founder willing to solve it.

She had spent 2019 completing an LLM in IT Law with research on AI liability, which went on to win academic recognition and positioned her years ahead of the current mainstream conversation about AI in legal operations. She knew what was technically possible. She knew what the problem actually was. And she had already founded Orbital Law, a commercial law firm for tech startups, so she understood what it meant to build from scratch.

Consolidocs is the solution she wished had existed throughout her career. Not a generic AI tool. Not another CLM. Something built specifically for the moment that nobody else was solving: the contract after signature, with all its amendments, in whatever state it happens to be in.

"I opened the first file. Framework Agreement, dated seven years ago. Then the amendments started. Amendment 1, Amendment 2. I kept scrolling. Amendment 15, Amendment 23, Amendment 38, Amendment 61. Sixty-one amendments."

DESIGN PARTNER PROGRAMME

We work with a small number of institutions as design partners

We begin every new engagement as a proof of concept, scoped around your specific contract estate and the problem you need to solve. For example, if you have a complex ICT contract estate, and a compliance deadline that is pressing, or simply the feeling that nobody in your organisation knows what your contracts say, we can help.
